Bride price is not more than N60 in my village - Ikeagwu

Celebrated Nollywood actor, Kalu Ikeagwu, has stated that bride price in his village is so little that it cannot buy a recharge card.
Ikeagwu, who was a guest on a TVC show, said that in his village in Abia State, they accept nothing more than 60 Naira because their children are not for sale.
The British-Nigerian actor who married Ijeoma Eze in a modest ceremony said, “The bride price in my village is N60. We are not selling our children so it
shouldn’t be more than that.”
The actor made the comment in reaction to the news that the traditional ruler of a state in Benue, Chief Sunday Ekele JP, had allegedly barred intending grooms in the community from spending more than N100,000 on traditional wedding.
The respected thespian was said to have taken the measure to encourage men who claim that exorbitant bride prices have been preventing them from marrying the women they love.
Interestingly so, Kalu’s submission was unexpected as negates a widely held but erroneous view that bride price is outrageously in Nigerian eastern states.
